Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Mantle ("we", "us", "our") is operated by [Your Legal Entity — once your LLC is formed, replace this with the LLC name and registered address]. You can reach us at [email protected].

2. Who can use Mantle

You can use Mantle if:

One natural person may have one account. A church or organization may have multiple users invited under one account; an admin invites them and assigns roles.

3. The service

Mantle takes a sermon recording or manuscript you upload, transcribes it (in the case of audio or video), and uses AI to generate written content based on it: a summary, social media posts, small group guides, a 5-day devotional, clip-suggestion timestamps, a Sunday recap email, and other deliverables. We may add, change, or remove features over time. We will notify you of material changes that affect what you receive.

4. Your content

You own your content. Sermons you upload, transcripts produced from them, the writing samples you provide, and the AI-generated deliverables produced for your church are yours. We do not claim ownership.

You grant us a limited license to process your content for the sole purpose of providing the service: transcribing it, sending it to our AI providers (Anthropic and OpenAI), generating deliverables, and storing them in your account so you can access them later. This license ends when you delete the content or close your account, except to the extent we need to retain copies in backups for a reasonable period.

You are responsible for your content. You represent that:

5. AI-generated output is a starting point, not finished work

The deliverables Mantle produces are generated by AI. They will sometimes contain errors, misinterpretations, fabricated scripture references, or theological framings that don't match what the preacher said. You are responsible for reviewing every deliverable before you publish or share it. Mantle is a content production assistant, not a substitute for human editorial judgment.

We design our prompts to minimize errors (the model is instructed to use only what's in the transcript, to mirror your tradition, and to not fabricate scripture), but we cannot guarantee accuracy. You agree that you will not rely on Mantle's output as authoritative without your own review.

6. Acceptable use

You may not:

7. Pricing, billing, and renewal

If you subscribe to a paid plan:

Quotas: each plan includes a set number of sermons per month. Sermons that fail because of an error on our end (e.g., a transcription crash) do not count against the quota. Sermons that succeed do count, even if you don't end up publishing the output.

8. Termination

By you: you can stop using Mantle and delete your account at any time. Email [email protected] if account deletion isn't yet self-service.

By us: we can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, fail to pay, or use the service in a way that harms us, our infrastructure, or other users. We will notify you and give you a reasonable opportunity to address the issue, except in cases of serious misuse where we may act immediately.

On termination, your subscription ends, your access ends, and we will delete your data per our Privacy Policy's retention rules. You can export your sermons and deliverables before termination; we recommend doing so.

9. Service availability

We aim for Mantle to be available continuously, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, third-party outages (Anthropic, OpenAI, Stripe, Cloudflare, Hetzner), or unexpected technical issues may cause downtime. We are not liable for the consequences of downtime, except as required by law.

10. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We disclaim all warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or accurate.

Specifically:

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the smallest amount permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Mantle and its operators from any claim arising from (a) your content, (b) your use of the service, or (c) your violation of these terms or any law. This includes reasonable attorneys' fees.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the new terms. If you don't agree to a change, you can cancel before it takes effect.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of [Your State / Country], without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute arising from these terms will be resolved exclusively in the courts of [Your County, Your State / Country], and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction that gives you mandatory rights, nothing in these terms removes those rights.
